Hi warriors! Hope you’ve all been well. This year I started a new job a big consulting firm and I also got accepted into the masters program at my university with goals of eventually getting my PhD. However, I was diagnosed in May and not sure if I should change my plan or not. Does anyone want to...

Injection Site Reactions

I've just finished my first box of Brabio. Localised reactions have gotten increasingly worse. Nurse asked me to persevere for another couple of weeks, taking antihistamines etc and if no improvement we will reevaluate my treatment. However the main reason I am on this is because I am breastfeeding....

Disabled Railcards - the saga continues

As many of you know - search it all using the magnifying glass on the top right - about 3 years ago I got very worked up at the Rail Delivery Group (RDG) which manages the Disabled Persons Railcards. They make it appear on the website that you need to hit certain thresholds of disability to get the...

Duloxetine

Does anyone have any experience of this drug for nerve pain and anxiety/depression ? I've recently been prescribed 30mg of this instead of Amitriptyline 20mg and Citalopram 20mg. The Amitriptyline wasn't helping my fatigue or touching the pain. Unfortunately I'm not getting along well with Duloxe...

It's happening tomorrow!

Starting with my DMT of choice (tecfidera) tomorrow. I know that: #I need to take it while having my 'protein and fat rich meal'. #try and have it at the same time everyday #keep a considerable gap between the two tablets. #persevere when I feel like shit (at least initially). #get blood test...

Felling of falling to the left side

Hi I have been experiencing a feeling of falling to the left side when I sit down for the last two days. I’m ok when standing although standing and walking is very difficult at the best of times. I have started gabapentin a few days ago and wondered if this is coincidence or a side effect I should p...

Not MS related...

I was diagnosed with RRMS back in June and have struggled to stay motivated with my studies (Ph.D). The timing of it all was awful! I was thankful to submit my final thesis yesterday! Along with all the emotional moments, hand tremor (making typing harder than ever! Word loved all the typos) I still...

Decisions, decisions... (I'm in a pickle!)

Hello fellow MSers, just wanted to crowdsource some advice if I may… I was diagnosed very quickly in Aug 2020 (as a hospital inpatient) and I started treatment in Nov (copaxone). I was offered cladribine from the off, but I discounted it because I was worried about having a compromised immune syste...

Starting on Tec soon 😁 🎉

Excited to start my first DMT in a few weeks time! Chosen Tecfidera (dimethyl fumarate) since the side effects seem the most bearable out of the options on offer. Then I can switch to something stronger in the future if Tec doesn’t work out. I hear that they’re quite big capsules though, does anyone...

My unconventional MS journey.

(There are no apologies for the colourful language, it’s my story, I tell it my way) When you get diagnosed, not only does the bottom, but the top & all four sides fall out of your world. You’re sat there with this seeming 'diagnosis of death' hanging over your head, feeling helpless. So what c...

Fampyra side effects

Just received my trial dose of Fampyra. Took the first tablet and felt dizzy, nauseous and headachey. I didn't take any more because I was going away for the weekend and didn't want to spoil it. I want to know if I start taking the tablets again are the side effects likely to ease if I persevere. Do...

Be a Lotus

Be a lotus, a lotus born from the depths of the swamp and comes to the surface, is a lotus that clings to the bed of the pond and not moving. It is a lotus flower to open its beauty prints. Is a lotus lights at its center, pistils of fire. It is a lotus that no dust and mess it seduces with its frag...

CBD oil and amitriptyline

Hi all, hope you all as well as can be. Long story short, I have been trying to contact my MS nurse for 5 weeks now after having horrific nerve pain in my thigh which is reducing me to tears. I've now been put on 100mg of amitriptyline (was on 75mg) and to try that for a few weeks. In-between this ...

Just a rant please! Had neuro symptoms for years, as well as a lot of other issues. No diagnosis, but my neurologist writes MS when requesting investigations etc. I have asymmetrical rotary nystagmus, loosing site in some outer areas. I have dysphagia, a hyper mobile bowel with hypo-motility. I hav...
