Childhood trauma/anxiety/depression

Does anyone have any idea if being subjected to a loveless childhood (from a parent, namely my father) could potentially lead to brain lesions? It's a long shot but I was a quivering mess as a kid, unbearably shy and fearful, of people. It's affected my mental health since I was young. I just live w...

How do i tell my children i have MS?

Hi everybody, I'm a 35 year old mother to 4 beautiful children. I was diagnosed with MS in July 2017, learning about my diagnosis via a letter from my neurologist. Finally today i got my face to face appointment with her and Was told i have RRMS. At the moment symptoms are quite mild and therefore n...

Child has Covid, do I distance myself?

My child tested Positive for Covid on a lateral flow test today. Do I need to distance myself or do you think it’s likely I will get it anyway because we’re all in close proximity. I’m worried but I have had my first 2 jabs & the booster. I’m supposed to be seeing my MS nurse Friday this week and n...

Children, or not?

Hello! Happy Saturday everyone! I would love to chat to women who have chosen a child-free life if anyone is up for sharing their experience? For some context, my partner and I are trying to decide whether we want to have a baby or not. I was diagnosed 12 years ago and where my MS is now is causin...

Paranoid about children

Does anyone else ever get paranoid about the possibility that maybe you genetically gave your kids a higher chance of getting MS? Every time my kids get pins and needles I get freaked out even though my rational brain knows that all kids get this!! Please tell me I'm not the only paranoid nutter! ...

Im looking for advice? I will be 57 this month and I met with neurology nurse practitioner today. I have spinal stuff going on that could explain my numbness in my arms and the tingling but what led me to them is my frequent falling. I've fallen 3 times in 8 months. Once in the shower. Second time at a childcare center because I work with behavioral children and I fell broke my wrist and I thought I did something to my neck, bit through my lip. Then several weeks ago I just face planted in the garage and broke my nose. The mri did show lesions but I'm pretty old to be diagnosed. Im not sure I want to be diagnosed at this age? Should I even pursue it? Im so confused? Im not one to stick my head in the ground but I also don't want to sit around and get worse. I have other symptoms and I've fallen many times before here and there and just chalked it up to me being clumsy. I could use some advice?

Has anyone had a MS Hug? I had one Sat. & It was so scary. I was in a child's pose till my husband came to help me lay down.I saw my chiropractor yesterday and he looked at me like I had 2 heard. So I was guessing that it was abnormal. So I asked Google and that was exactly what I had. Called Neurologist today and waiting for next step. It was such a scary feeling.

children’s flu vaccine nasal spray

This vaccine maybe offered to all primary school-aged children and those up to 17 with long-term health conditions. There is an unconfirmed risk to anyone who is immuno-compromised, e.g. stem cell and Ocrevus-treated MSers. This risk may best be avoided by excluding their children, although you may...

Does anyone else suffer from severe pain in their legs, primarily your thighs? The pain is so bad that my neurologist has prescribed oxycodone for it, only on an as needed basis, and some days that barely takes the edge off. I started with RRMS from when I was a child, but have “graduated” to SPMS over the last 10 years or so. I worry because I don’t want to take these pain meds long term, but I don’t know what else is out there. I’ve done PT, exercise, watch my diet, etc. I used to get lidocaine infusions and those really helped, but because insurance doesn’t cover them anymore, no pain clinics offer them anymore. Located in Boston, MA, USA. .
