Child has Covid, do I distance myself?

My child tested Positive for Covid on a lateral flow test today. Do I need to distance myself or do you think it’s likely I will get it anyway because we’re all in close proximity. I’m worried but I have had my first 2 jabs & the booster. I’m supposed to be seeing my MS nurse Friday this week and now it’s depends on if I show/test positive now. I need bloods on Monday, that to is another thing I might need to cancel.

I spoke to my neurologist on Wednesday and asked whether I am more at risk with covid than a normal person with no underlying conditions and he said no unless you are on an immune suppressant dmd. I can see you are on Avonex which I am not sure whether it is or not? I think the protocol now is that if you do catch covid and you have MS you can contact your doctor and they will prescribe you anti viral medication to start ASAP. I know its worrying when you have little ones bringing home all sorts of bugs as I have two. I don't think I could possibly distance myself from them as they are always by my side! Obviously if you feel safer distancing yourself do what feels right for you.

Yeah I had a letter from the NHS with a PCR test and if I show symptoms then to take the test and if it comes back positive there are some treatment options they can give me. My daughter got the same letter yet my Wife didn’t get one and she’s my caregiver.
