What is 'Chronic Pain'?

I've avoided using the label "chronic pain" because my pain is not really a symptom of my disease. I'm slowly starting to realize I deal with almost constant pain, at least when walking...sometimes when sleeping or sitting, but it's not because of MS directly. My right knee is injured (sports inju...

Chronic pain

hi all. So i was diagnosed with RRMS in 2017 following a supposed trapped nerve in my neck that has never recovered since December 2015: This is what lead to me requesting scans and eventual diagnosis. I'm really fortunate that the MS itself seems stable, but this nerve disturbance causes burning s...

Ever been told you should be grateful you’ve been diagnosed now?

Hey guys, this is going to be a rant because I’m in a ranty mood. !!!Content Warning for medical gaslighting!!! A few weeks ago I posted a review of a neurologist who I feel treated me very poorly (I was quite frustrated when I posted it so it was heated I admit). He tried calling me and left a voi...

How do you know?

Hi folks, I’m new to the group and only just recently diagnosed with MS (literally four weeks ago) - The reason I was finally diagnosed was because I had pins and needles in my hand, numbness in my arm (the feeling that you get when you go to the dentist and get a tooth out and then touch your mout...

Am I having symptoms?

Hi everyone. I have a history of MS in my family but the doctors aren't taking it seriously to run the proper tests since it's my cousin's not mother, grandmother, etc. But I think the fact that all three of my cousin's born same generation as me all have MS and this is considered anything relevant...

Gabapentin

Hi even though I have multiple leisons on brain and spine the neurologist still will not diagnose, but she has suggested the GP prescribing Gabapentin for chronic pain. Was just wondering whether anyone else takes this and if so how effective is it?

Changing DMTs to Ocrevus, relapses, and pregnancy questions

Questions about next step treatment options! I am currently on Copaxone (2017-present excluding pregnancy) and relapsed October 2020 after I finished nursing my 1 year old. A new symptom came on which caused chronic pain in my hands and legs. It is only starting to subside slightly and I think it ...

Pain and vacinne

I had my 2nd Covid vaccine 5 weeks ago and have chronic pain in both arms , shoulders and hands since around that time. Not sure if it’s just a coincidence or if it’s a long time side effect of the vaccine. I’ve just been prescribed Gabapentin but it’s yet to kick in and not getting any sleep in the...
