Parking permit

Just wondering if anyone else has had issues obtaining/renewing their disabled parking badge/permit? I got one a couple of years ago and have been trying to renew it since January and they have decided to not renew because apparently I don't need it anymore? Not too sure how they came to this conclu...

Blue badge parking

I am feeling quite annoyed by what may or may not be misuse of the blue badge. I do not wish to be judgmental, but I find it quite hard to feel charitable when I am unable to get a disabled parking space and yet I see people who can apparently easily get out of their cars and can actually return ca...

Parking Rant!

I know that this is an entirely entitled problem, but it's really doing my head in! I managed to get a disabled spot outside my house, we live on a road with on-street parking, but half the time i get home there;s some other mystery blue badge holder parked there and I have to find somewhere else an...

Blue badge hospital car parking

Thought I'd share information I came across by chance. My hospital car park has a camera-controlled number plate recognition system. There are a few disabled spaces round main reception (where the camera, presumably, doesn't film) which allows free parking for blue badge holders. Everywhere else, un...

Temporary disabled parking permits

My latest relapse has really affected my mobility. I've bought myself a scooter which really helps give me some independence. I've got two young children, so it means I can now do the school run, get out the house to see friends and other parents. When venturing out of the village where I live thoug...

Parking in a disabled parking !!

Don't you hate those horrible evil eye people, giving you the hairy eye when you park in the disabled spot. I get the Rangers pull me up and check my photo on the sticker. I get your not crippled so why are you parking there. Enough is enough I yell back " "take my parking and take my disease " An...

MS Society response to pavement parking

Cars and vans parking on pavements. Not illegal it would seem and evermore common practice among ‘some’ car owners. It affects many pedestrians including mothers with pushchairs, power chair users, blind and partially sighted, and children. Pavement parking compromises visibility, creates un-pass...

Parking Ticket

Hi, I've just come out of a restaurant & returned to my car (parked in disabled space) and noticed a ticket - I'd forgotten to put my badge on display! Can I dispute the ticket? Has this happened to anyone else? Any tips on the angle I should take if disputing it? Thank you

Getting outside

I find that getting outside, even for a wheelchair roll around a parking lot if I can't make it to the park for a short stroll with my canes or walker, really helps my mood.
