Stem cells directly into spine

Has anyone heard of research of stem cells directly into the spine? My neurologist mentioned it last September and said I would be a good candidate for trials. I spoke to my ms nurse this week and she had heard about it but it wasn't being trialled in this country and she is now on long term leave....

Lemtrada round 2 or stem cells?

Hi all, Out of interest, if you had an option which of the above would you opt for, the stem cells being from one's own bone marrow? If the lemtrada had not performed as well as expected on all 4 counts, namely symptoms, MRI results depicting prominent inflammation in key areas, 3 relapses in 7 mo...

Stem cells just got real

Did any one hear the news today about the Polish paraplegic who walked after successful stem cell implants from his own body? The cell implants allowed severed nerves to regrow. This is not science fiction any more! It may be along way from helping us yet, but it looks like the most hopeful thing I ...

Stem Cells

Hi all, I have been diagnosed since 2008 but never had any DMDs offered to me until earlier this year. I turned them down to join the STREAMS trial which involves taking intravenous stem cells harvested from my own bone marrow. Is anybody else on the trial? There are only 13 patients on it in the U...

A very brave video just after HSCT

Rachel Teasdale takes stock of things the afternoon after her stem cells were reinfused back. It is an emotional film that took a lot of guts to make. it has been a privilege o be able to share these with the wider MS community. Thank you to shift.ms for allowing me to share Rach's story with you. ...
