SPMS trials

Any SPMSers out there on a drug trial? I finally got on Cladriplas @ Barts London but my NfL not high enough to get the cladribine treatment. Missed out on Campath (Alemtuzemab) trial in 2012 when still diagnosed RR because I was deemed too mobility impaired even though I could walk 500m unaided, al...

Clinical trials

Has anyone been on clinical trials before? How was it? How many times did you travel to and from the research lab/clinic? How was the protocol, was it muddled with red tape or was it just straight forward? I am asking this because I am seriously considering the 'Keratinocyte' trial in Cambridge Uni...

Are MS'ers willing to have LPs for clinical trials?

Please help out with Prof/Team G's survey to find out how willing MS'ers are to have LPs as a way of assessing effectiveness of potential neuroprotective drugs. All MS'ers can participate, not just PPMS'ers (as denoted in the blog post). Link below!

Results of Cladribine & Fingolimod tablet trials

Today at the American Association of Neurology results of 2 new tablet trials were shown. Neither drug is yet approved but this is a big step. Cladribine tablets taken 5 days/month for 2 months/year reduce relapses by 55% in a 2 year trial, i.e. the chance of a relapse drops from 39% to 20%.
