Kesimpta or Ocrevus šŸ„“

Iā€™m due to start Kesimpta. Kesimpta is a monthly injection and Ocrevus is two treatments a year (6 monthly - as some/most will know). I was encouraged to go for Kesimpta so I did, but surely the infusion is best for lifestyle? Infusion requires a day at the hospital, side effects as with all medication. Pros and cons to both but itā€™s two days a year instead of 12, also with side effects, impact on work etc and being faced with the anxiety of injecting again. Is it about cost, it would be cheaper to inject than accept infusion (for the NHS). Maybe thatā€™s why they encourage Kesimpta over infusion. I work in the NHS so I did wonder. They also say that some ask to switch from infusion to Kesimpta, considering this to be better for their lifestyle. So is it a better option? Both have the same efficacy. I have a history of site reactions after 6-7yrs of injecting so injecting again concerns me. What are others thoughts on both treatment options and can anyone comment first hand re experience (or non šŸ™šŸ¼ ) of site reactions with Kesimpta? #Kesimpta #Ocrevus #injection #infusion
@leigh37

Personally I don't have any problems / side effects on kesimpta (apart from the very first injection) it only takes me about two mins once a month to inject so I would say less time out of my life than going for an infusion once every six months, of course its horses for courses and nothing wrong with going for an infusion, although I'm sure self injection must be more cost effective for the NHS, personally the less time I'm in hospital then the better for me, so a big thumbs up for Kesimpta for ease of use and little interference in my daily life, Hope this is helpful and good luck on your journey.

@leigh37 Hey :) thank you for your thoughts. Iā€™ve been on Rebif and Avonex historically so I expect some side effects and heard thatā€™s expected after the first dose. If you donā€™t mind me asking, no side effects after the other doses? That would be a bonus, only I always had side effects the day after the other two as a norm. Site reactions are probably my main concern? I was left with terrible redness, bruising and an abscess on two occasions after years of injecting the others, mostly Rebif because itā€™s a subcut as opposed to IM. Iā€™ve committed to Kesimpta so good to hear a positive review. It was helpful, thank you :)
