How should an MS clinic work?

Hi All, I've recently been offered a consultant neurologist job. Part of this job involves setting up an MS clinic and trying to improve services in a region that currently is a bit under-resourced from an MS point of view. My question is how should an MS clinic work from a patient point of view? How can neurologists do better? What is good? What is bad? Thanks for taking the time to make suggestions
@cameron

I changed teams from one that served me badly (and continues to serve a friend badly) to a centre of excellence. Firstly - commuications. The MS nurses are available Mon-Fri mornings via a phone helpline. I'm sure this is both a) best practice and b) unusual. It makes a huge difference to daily living knowng that you're a phone call away from specialist help. The nurses are also brilliant at liaising with other clinics, GPs etc. My recommendation is that you would aim for as high a level of communication between your team and your patents as funds allow. Also, to be aware that inter-personal skills are vital. The way I've felt at times, any brusqueness or put-downs would have finished me off. Lastly, it's getting such a specialist area, I guess you must insist that everyone keeps up to speed and is 100% pro-active. My annual appt date usually changes at least once.I really don't mind because I know he attends international conferences etc etc and that I am the beneficiary.
