Moving to Ireland

I'm contemplating a move to the Republic of Ireland. I was born in Northern Ireland, but have lived in England since age 18 (37 years now...). I know nothing about the health service in the South. Can any locals tell me how it works? I know it's hell trying to get a G.P. appointment in England, but they are free. Do they cost in Ireland and, if so, how much? The same goes for hospital treatment - how much does it cost? Is there a flat rate, or does it vary with type of treatment? What about treatment for M.S.? How good are the services? Does it vary by region? I am currently in my 7th year of Tysabri. How easy is that to obtain in Ireland and how much does it cost, if anything? I really want to move, but I don't want to leap into the unknown. Any advice/tips would be much appreciated. Many thanks, Jon
