medication

hi hi i was diagnosed with ms (officially) last year november/december time now they want me to take a treatment for ms on 1st march and i have absolutely no idea which one to get out of the ones they’ve given an option of. - Tysabri - Ocrevus (not too keen on this one because to my knowledge it’s quite recent?) - Kesimpta (recent as well so i’m not sure) - Lemtrada (this is a chemotherapy drug no? i don’t want to lose my hair idek if u can lose ur hair on this but they also said could give you another autoimmune disease??) - mavenclad (i can never remember to take pills so this isn’t an option imo since even when i remember i just refuse to). I’d also like to mention my JCV blood test came back positive so Tysabri (i think) could reactivate it therefore PML is huge risk, correct me if wrong but not exactly a risk i want to take lmao also i have psoriasis but vvvv mild so they didn’t even bother putting it on my file would i still be given the option of lemtrada? Thanks guys i know i wrote so much good lord i don’t blame you if you skip this lol much love tho <3

@selma1 it’s really tough deciding which DMD to have - it did my head in - so you have my sympathy One of the most useful sources of information I found was the Dr Aaron Boster YouTube channel. He’s an American MS specialist and there are a lot of short and very clear videos about the various DMDs as well as all aspects of MS. The MS Trust website also has a useful comparison table called MS Decisions where you can select 3 drugs and compare them. Finally I called the MS Society after diagnosis and they were really knowledgeable and helpful, I chatted for 40 minutes and felt way better afterwards. Hope that helps 🤗
