Autoimmune Diseases like company

So it has been a while since I was last here. I have had a couple of new autoimmune conditions to join the party that is my body. Firstly, alopecia areata, I gained a small bald patch and my hair is thinning, not fun. I guess I just have to hope it will come back but I wear it up almost all the time now because it makes me self conscious. Second autoimmune to barge its way into my life is graves disease/overactive thyroid. I was told when I agreed to take lemtrada for my MS that there was a 33% chance that I would gain thyroid issues. It may be killing off the B and T cells but when they come back they want something else to attack. The pills made me gain weight which I wasn't happy with so I stopped then then got told off my my doctor. It has affected my heart so I am now on heart medication and beta blockers. I feel generally fine, apparently with how overactive my thyroid is I should feel worse but I guess the beta blockers are helping there. They are trying to get me to remove my thyroid which I really don't want to do so we shall see how it goes. I have made an MS support Instagram for anyone who would like to follow. Thanks for reading 🙂 Www.instageam.com/multiple.sclerosis_awareness #Gravesdisease #heart #hair #autoimmune #ms #multiplesclerosis

Alopecia here, too, except it's on my face. Well, my son hates when I grow a beard, anyway.
