Newly diagnosed and grateful for any advice

Hi everyone, I was diagnosed about 2 months ago and have been struggling a lot with the mental side of things. I have my first appointment at the NHS MS clinic in May but one of the things that worries me is that my neurologist says it will then be another few months before the treatment begins and then another few months after that before it starts having an effect. I’m concerned about having a relapse in the meantime as that adds up to over a year from now that the treatment would start being effective. Has anyone had a similar experience and can provide some reassurance? I also am choosing between Ocrevus and Kesimpta and thought Kesimpta was the better option, but was recommended Ocrevus as there is more information around due to it being slightly older. I was also told it’s a better option if I want to start a family in the future (which I’m not sure I do). If anyone can share their experiences on either DMT that would be brilliant. I planned to go with Kesimpta because the Ocrevus infusions seemed intense. Thank you so much for any advice.

Welcome. I'm sorry to hear you're going through a hard time. All I can say is that if the infusion itself is all that's putting you off Ocrevus, don't be worried. I don't find the experience intense at all. Take a book, some snacks and a blanket and use it as an excuse to relax for half a day. And you will likely have some new people to chat to as well if that's your thing! Regarding the wait, I'm sorry I don't have any advice as my experience was different. Good luck :)
