Potential diagnosis of ms

Hello all, I am 41 with 2 children and work as a teacher. I do not smoke or drink and have perfect bp and cholesterol lol but on Sunday last week I went to sleep and by Monday I could not walk, my right hand side was frozen so I was dragging myself around into work till Thursday. On Thursday pm I realised I couldn’t drive and went to a and e. After 2 days I got ct scan where they suspected I had a stroke but after the mri was told that they suspected ms and I had pervious lesions. I wanted to ask how people are coping? I am on steroids which has helped in that I can walk and drive now but have read so many horror stories.

Sounds like a relapse, relapses pass. It might be years before your next one so try not to panic. Resting is key, so make sure you take enough time off work. It is a very scary thing to happen, and it’s ok to feel that. The course of everyone’s disease is so different and there are excellent treatment options available to slow progression and prevent relapses. I hope that you get to speak to a neurologist soon to go through the options. Take care xxx

Thank you so much. I am keen to get back to work, I am terrified of sitting at home and even after the dragging leg problem, I’d rather go in than rest.. I have lesions so I have had lesser episodes before that have not been quite so dehabilitating so never picked up before.
