Confused

I feel so confused. I was diagnosed RRMS in September and as late as last July, I could still exercise and walk say 3.5kms or more but now I get wobbly/shaky legs after 15 minutes walking. Does that mean I'm progressive, or can I practice walking and improve. This whole diagnosis and worsened walking ability has got me petrified, especially when I still want children and fear that will never happen now. Really hoping there are some success/improvement stories out there as feeling really low about it all

Hello @foxes84, this is exactly what happened to me. After the first episode (relapse) I could not manage to walk more than 12 minutes. What I learnt, is that when your core body temp rises, and you have lesions (which we do) then this slight inflammation due to heat blocks the signals telling your legs to work. It's the same as many many people being immobilised through having a hot bath or shower. The important thing. is that you keep the strength up in your leg muscles. But don't overdo things. That's just me and my story. However, the chances are you are still recovering from a relapse and so things may well improve a lot for you. How long after a 15 minute walk does it take to recover and walk again? My daily regime became 2 x 15 minute walks a day with many hours between. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate regarding plans. Focus on what you can do, and build up your resilience without over-reaching yourself :-)

Thank you for your response. I recovered relatively quickly after sitting down a short while, repeat short walks sound like a good idea. It's definitely something I need to work on, within my limits. It makes me feel better knowing there is some hope
