Ocrevus infusion

Hello All, so I wanted to ask for advice and guidance regarding treatments that have been offered to me. I have RRMS newly diagnosed in feb 2023 .. I’m still recovering from the horrible relapse I had and have a few days left of my steroids to finish. Saw a MS specialist last week who overwhelmed me with info regarding treatments they wanted me to go on. she suggested to me 1.) tysabri 2.) ocrevus I have been doing a lot of research and am drawn to ocrevus. Could I have some advice from anyone who is on this infusion ? Sending you all lots of love peace and light ❣️

Hi Emy, i hope you are recovering well. Here is my opinion. I would take tysabri again over ocrevus and I will tell you why. I was on Tysabri for over ten years. I didnt relapse once whilst on this drug. Because I was young enough I actually healed some of my original lesions. There is a virus called the (JC) John cunningham virus which is prevalent in the population anyway. After 8 years of tysabri my jc virus started increasing. Then I moved two years later and felt i wasnt cared for as well as I had been. So I took myself off tysabri. As far as I know ocrevus stays in your system longer and this would of been a lot scarier for me. I wouldn't of handled that well when my jc virus load started to rise. However i don't know all the information behind ocrevus. So get some more opinions and do some more research. I think ocrevus doesn't involve monthly hospital visits for administering the drug it is given every 6 months. However I got bloods tests every month before tysabri so I felt well monitored. I dont think you get that as much woth ocrevus. From what I can see they are both about as effective as each other. But ocrevus is newer so maybe less is know is about the risks. I know the choice isn't easy but the sooner you start the better. I hope some of that helps.

Hi hun I was diagnosed in December, but I thought it was ridiculous that they asked me what medication I wanted to take, I said ‘I’m not medically trained so I don’t know which one to choose’ but they said I had to choose. I don’t understand how each medication is going to intereact with the other meds I take so I think it’s wrong that they ask you to choose don’t you?
