AI-driven personalized care for people with multiple sclerosis
AI stands to make some massive impacts in MS, often in levelling up the standard and consistency of the care we receive.
I am on the board of a UK based trial examining the icobrainms tool in looking at MRI.
This article is about a similar wider reaching project in Europe.
The TL;DR version is as follows:
⚫ As MS presents with a highly variable course and diverse patient experiences, traditional treatment optimization approaches often fall short. This calls for a shift towards a more pro-active, data-driven and personalized medicine approach that could potentially improve patient outcomes for pwMS.
⚫ The project will develop, validate and seek regulatory approval for an AI-driven clinical decision-support platform, which offers the MS care team a holistic view of the patient through the visualization of all relevant patient data and the prognosis on the expected disease trajectories under different treatment regimens.
⚫ Prognostic models of clinical progression and treatment response will be developed based on a vast and diverse dataset combining clinical trial and real-world data, in order to develop AI-based prediction models that are applicable in real-world clinical settings.

Has anyone got any first hand experience of AI in MRI? I know icobrainms is being used in the USA.
