When the only option is to laugh 🙃
I got my second half dose of Ocrevus today! You might be wondering “Chelsie, how did it go?”. Well, let me tell you.. upon entering the infusion clinic I found out quickly that I knew the person coming in before me. It was in fact one of my ex boyfriends who cheated on me ages ago. My city has a population of about 260,000 people and multiple infusion clinics so the chance that I would even see anyone I know at the exact same time, nonetheless someone I’m not a fan of is very slim. I believe his toxic energy jinxed me the second I stepped foot in there.🙈
All the chairs were taken, he took the last main level chair and he refused to go upstairs (where you have to bring your IV down the stairs if you have to use the bathroom). This guy is in there for one hour for an IV administered medication for Crohn’s and he was concerned about having an outlet for his charger 🤦🏼♀️. A kind man offered to go upstairs instead and gave me his seat on main level (bless his heart). So thankful I dodged that bullet. 🙏🏻
Unfortunately this was only the beginning of my infusion day sh*t show. The nurse comes up to me and asks me if I have my medication with me. I said no because the pharmacy is supposed to deliver it beforehand. She looks twice in the fridge, doesn’t know what to do so I call compass. It took compass and her one hour to figure out the whole debacle and my meds were miraculously found! I think “ok let’s get this going finally”. During my first half dose, the nurse did the IV insertion flawless in my left hand. But not this nurse, she poked me three times in my left hand and I ended up having to get it inserted in the fold of my right arm (dominant arm). Couldn’t comfortably have my steroid pig out or do much with my right arm at all. My ex had the audacity to try and start a conversation and in my earbuds went. The good news: no infusion reaction! I also think that any infusion after this will be a walk in the park 🤣. I was literally laughing to myself as all of this unfolded because what else can you do! 🤷🏼♀️
Your amazing I don't think I could've stayed I have an ex like that and if I seen her anywhere I would've walked out u have a lot of strength and I hope things only get better for u
This is one of the funniest things I have read recently - thanks for sharing! I like your attitude of seeing the humour here (rather than my approach which would have been to "go postal"!!!)
