Gilenya Help in Germany
Hello, My name is Kim 25 years old from Iran. I am an international student and I live in Wismar, Germany since last month. I have MS since Sep 2017. I use Fingolimod ( Gilenya ) 0.5 daily since last January. In my 1st attack, my left eye became blurry and after using some Corticosteroids it became ok.
I am a member of TK insurance but I still couldn’t find an MS specialist in Wismar and I don’t know if they will cover the price of my pills or not and I am so nervous for it. I have the pills just for a few days. Also, based on my blood tests ( while using Fingolimod) the number of my W.B.C- R.B.C- Hb- plat Aand Hct have decreased since last year and now based on the last test on 30.7.2018 :
W.B.C = 3800
R.B.C = 4.57
Hb = 13.4
Hct = 38.9
plat = 201000
Should I change my medicine?
I have another question about alcohol, Is it ok for me to drink 0.5L beer (2.5-5% alcohol) once a week? how about red wine? which kind of drink is not proper for me? I do not smoke at all and I walk so much and I dance and do some Yoga practices in the week.
I appreciate your help in advance.
Best Regards,
Kim
@kimia_asgari , firstly, I've split your post and put it into it's own topic. I hope the title is OK. Anyway, I'm in the UK, so can't help with your insurance question. Sorry. But, Gilenya is an immuno-suppressant so I would expect your bloods to reflect this. And, I can't see any reason to abstain from alcohol. Your intake is very moderate.
Hi kima, In terms of your blood cells you have to take care of yourself specifically in cold seasons, wearing mask, flu shots.... I don't drink but I think one beer in a week should be ok if you like to drink. By the way, which one is correct Kimia or Kimya?
