Bowels

Hi. I need some help/advice. I have rrms since 2018. I also have had ibs (anxiety caused) since I was a teenager. Recently I have been having episodes where I suddenly can hold my bowels any more. At first I thought it was the ibs but lately the pattern doesn't fit. My husband thinks it's the ms. Has anyone else experienced this? Any help or advice would be gratefully appreciated. It sounds silly buy I'm getting to the point where I wish I had stomas so I could control it.

The best thing to do is go to the bowel and bladder clinic as MS does cause these issues unfortunately.. I found that contacting them directly was the best way via the doctors website hope that helps are also contact Dr Ms nurse as well she can sign post you to wherever you need to be best of luck

Oh, poor you! I have been in same boat, but it seems to be getting a little better now. I'm definitely putting it down to my MS. I feel like the MS team are really accepting of bladder issues, but less so when it comes to the bowel. I think I subconsciously started to eat less carbs, because I convinced myself that that would sort me out, but if I'm honest, I don't know what makes it better. I do still have trouble occasionally but it's definitely less frequent. I hope you're able to get some help!
