Benign ms ?

Am a little nervous about posting my first public message but am keen to have contact with people who really understand. Was diagnosed in 1996 with benign ms and left to get on with it with no support. Recently contacted ms nurse due to minor walking and balance difficulties. Still feel a fraud but beginning to realise that ms has been slowly chipping away for years without me realising slow walking, bladder issues. Bell's palsy poor balance unable to find correct word etc were symptoms of ms. I am confused does this mean I have progressed. Should I have been offered drugs initially. Just struggling to understand thanks for any advice

Hi there, my post to Shift was the first I've ever done on a site in my life! Just a quick point, go to your GP tomorrow and request an appt with a neurologist for ASAP. The good thing is that you will find hints have really moved on a long way since your 1996 diagnosis. Let us know how you get on. - all the best, you're in really company with this site!

Can somebody explain what exactly is benign MS ? Clinical symptoms with clean MRI's or MRI's showing lesions but no clinical symptoms ? Or is it something else entirely different .... It could risky at times when MS is chipping away at you and you're not on treatment because you have been diagnosed as 'benign MS'. thanks.
