Newly diagnosed

Hi I was diagnosed 2 days ago with RRMS and trying to come to terms with it. Had optic neuritis in Dec so still dealing with my eyesight not being what it was in one eye and now the diagnosis. Does the worry /being scared everyday when you wake up ever go away? Anything you can advise to help get through this? Lots of crying happening and then pulling myself together and going I can do this for me and my kids and then the sadness hits again... I also have to make a choice on DMT to start so any advice on that would also be helpful..not quite sure where to turn. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi, it is the most scary thing ever. I have been diagnosed during this year and the covid crisis. I have times when I forget I have MS and then it comes back to me and I start to think about possibilities and scenarios. Some good and some very scary 😟. I think this is why it is difficult. Nobody knows. At least if you break an arm you generally know what will happen. MS plays on your mind, causing damage to it. I am speaking to a psychologist next month and I hope that helps. Can you speak to someone? Good luck 🤞.

Hi I'm really sorry you have recently been diagnosed RRMS I don't have MS my daughter does .. my daughter has SPMS.... yes it's normal to feel scared and vulnerable what I would suggest is you focus on what you can do to help your body ...eat well keep active take care of your immune system that way you have a good chance of not getting RRMS to often . All the best for the future ...
