Dmds?!🤷♀️
Question
I was always under the impression Dmds help prevent relapses. As I'm nowhere near as bad at relapsing since going on campath in 2012 I've not been taking anything . As I didn't think it necessary But do they help with general feeling rubbish from having Ms? Just after other people's understandings of dmds.
Cheers guys

Hi @Vicki1986 , my understanding of DMD's is that their purpose is to prevent or reduce incidences of relapse ie. new inflammatory activity, and to slow down progression from existing lesions. I'm pretty lucky to be under a teaching and research hospital with a specialist MS Centre so have always trusted what they've told me. Symptom management I see as a seperate issue ... so for example spasticity, spasms, fatigue, balance, sensory disturbances etc ... having said that I'm about due to start on Kesimpta and have noticed that a number of people taking the more modern DMDs seem to feel it has a positive effect on symptoms too. I'll be interested to see people's thoughts on this too!
