Painful comments

Just need to vent. I have mobility issue, wear a foot splint, but hip flexor playing up as well combined with high heat sensitivity. My answer is a micro scooter (the type all the kids have), I've had it for over a year now. It is my life saviour, I put my nearly dead left leg on it, and scoot with the right. It's light weight, foldable and allows me to go from A to B, pretend some kind of normality, fool many people that I'm fine and get one with my life. But once in a while there is a nasty comment in the street from a stranger. "Selfish", "you're too old for that", and once a guy elbowed me to make me fall (he failed by the way). Today, I was told "not to do that" by the security at Queen square (national hospital of neurology). I stopped and explained that I couldn't walk and were careful. But he kept repeating the same thing: "Don't do that" I know I shouldn't pay attention, but I left the hospital in tears, and hours later it's still with me, distracting me from work. It's hard enough as it is, I just can't take those comments because frankly I'd rather walk.
@Stumbler

@noelie , I am sorry that you had to go through this. It seems ignorance is growing to epidemic proportions. Give yourself a treat to make up for this incident. Wine and/or chocolate - your choice, :wink:

@RachaelLouise

@noelie - they can get lost ! The key thing here is they don't understand and don't think ... Ignorance I some times call it, thick if I am having a bad day ! That's what it is not your fault ! Hard to remember when your up against it ... And it gets to you ! Don't let it get to you but easier said than done when it's happening to you .... Hard to get it out of your head when people are so insensitive I know ... Just Remember though it's not you it's them ! Rachael -- sending you huge hugs and like stumbler said what do you fancy as a treat ? Magazine ? Favourite food ? What is it you like ?
