I Hate Drugs

Which is weird, because I take a pile of them. @jnich started me thinking about all the drugs I don't take. @WincesterMark spoke about abstaining from DMT's; I'm not that courageous, and they'll have to take my Ocrevus from my cold, spastic hand. I am reluctant to start any new drug without trying a non-drug alternative. I thought I'd share my list - fair warning, there's some real 'woo' stuff, but in a study that contains one old Canadian male, this stuff has proven 100% effective. #1 Muscle aches and spasticity. Epsom Salts (magnesium) baths. Luckily, I'm not sensitive to heat so these work well. They also help me sleep. #2 Headaches - If they're extremely uncomfortable I blast them with a THC vape pen. That's a drug though, and for regular headaches I rub mint essential oils on my temples (both peppermint and Japanese mint). Green tea helps too. #3 Neurogenic bowel - enema. It worked for your Grandmother and it works for you. Upsides? You get to pick your evacuation times, it's highly effective, and the whole process eventually becomes second nature. Bring a book, pick a spot on the washroom floor, and enjoy not taking all those stupid laxatives. #4 Skin pain, itching and burning. Dry Brushing works, and is precisely what it sounds like: using a dry, course bristled shower brush on your legs and arms. Hippies will have you believe you're moving lymph, and should always brush toward your heart. I think that's BS, but I don't want to piss off Big Hippie, so I do it. Use long, slow strokes with as much pressure as you can stand. It's invigorating and effective. The adjunct to dry brushing that causes my wife to laugh her ass off is Swatting. Take your dry brush and flip it over, then use the flat head of the brush to swat your big muscles. I swat my calves, thighs, glutes, biceps, and triceps. Repeat as many times as necessary and smack yourself as hard as you find tolerable. #5 Body Aches. Massage. Even though I don't have coverage anymore I find money in the budget for massage. I ask the masseuse to focus on my back, chest, and neck for an hour because I can work the big lower muscles at home. What are your drug-free hacks? What works for you? If you have questions about mine, feel free to ask, either here or using DM.
@Happyeid

I hated drugs to bits since year I found out i had MS bec I was totally fine I used to say everyone feels their own body and what it needs if fine why toxic There is a cure but this illness is designed not to find it lol proof of that is we still search or hope. And as always Im late sorting things out things out and bad in focusing since diagnoses then i start blaming my poor grey brain cells

@NeedMoreSleep

That's great that you feel totally fine, @Happyeid ! Do you credit that with anything? Good diet? Good luck? Good genes?
