Progression/Relapse on Ocrevus

I Have been on Ocrevus for almost two years and throughout this treatment I have never felt better! The only thing I did notice was that I would start to feel sluggish in the lead up to the next infusion. I am currently recovering from a horrible relapse, for which I spent over a week as an inpatient in the hospital. When I presented to my neurologist with left arm weakness and excruciating pain in my head and neck, she said that relapses on ocrevus were very “rare”. I was subsequently admitted to hospital for iv steroids and MRI was booked. MRI showed no new brain lesions (in fact some were less apparent which was brilliant). MRI c-spine showed a new lesion at C5 and there were new lesions on T-spine at T3/T4/T5. All of these lesions were new when compared to last MRI only 5 months ago. I have two questions: 1) Has anyone else relapsed or had progression whilst on ocrelizumab? 2) What options do I have for a next line of treatment? Referral for a BMT was briefly discussed and I really do not know a lot about this as I never considered the fact that I might one day need it. I am due for review with my neurologist soon to discuss all of the above but I am just wondering if there are others in a similar situation?

This is peculiar as I recently had an MRI spine scan and they found more lesions in my spine. @HelenD see above

Hi, Ocrevus has been shown by studies to be 75% effective, not 100%, so sad. There are other high efficacious drugs, such as Tysabri and Lemtrada. Hopefully you should have access to other highly efficacious drugs. If your DMT is not working for you, your neurologist should give you plenty of information to make a new choice. Good luck 🤞.
