Having ideas and making connections...

Hi all! I had my first dose of the Oxford Astrazeneca vaccine this morning and feeling good so far - if a little cold, but I am living in Scotland so it may just be that... Anyhow, I decided I was gonna put my science hat on and do a little bit of reading about the studies so far and everything like that. Whilst I was reading through the side effects, I noticed the name of a rare diseases that I had when I was younger and it got me thinking... (don't worry, the rare disease was listed as having zero cases or fatalities during vaccine trials) When I was very young, I had a disease called Henoch Schonlein Purpura, and I was wondering if anyone else here has had this? I have a sneaky suspicion that this was a very early clue that my body was going to have autoimmune "events" and I woulld just like to know if anyone else here has had Henoch Schonlein Purpura (either as a child or as an adult) Let me know! Hope everyone is doing as well as possible today :)

I had my 1st vaccine yesturday too. I had a rough night 😩 but I'm feeling a lot better already. A rare disease, I don't even know what it is, just googled it and I can confirm I haven't had that. Hope all is good 😁

@Clary

I haven’t had HSP, but I am pretty sure my son did as a baby. Unfortunately the Doctors didn’t know what it was. Plus it went away. They never checked his Kidneys. He had strange purple spots on his legs. The Drs were just relieved it wasn’t meningitis. Thank you for this information. Unfortunately I don’t know if it is linked to MS. I have MS and autoimmune disease runs in my family. I think there are links to autoimmunity. 🤷‍♀️
