Newly diagnosed

Hi, I got diagnosed 3 days ago with RRMS. I'm 45 and my symptoms started 6 weeks ago. MRI of brain and spine showed numerous lesions in my brain and 2 on my spine. It's all come as quite a shock. When I met the neurologist last week I was told I would have to have 7 different vaccines before medication. He gave me a choice of Kesimpta, Ocrevus, Ponvory and Mavenclad. I'm not keen on the idea of the vaccines and reading about the medications fills me with dread.

Hi ☺️ If your symptoms started 6 weeks ago and you have been recently diagnosed that is great you didn’t have to wait long so that’s one consolation. I’ve never known so many vaccines that’s madness 🤯 It all comes down to protecting you though, so I always say try and take the positive out of something bad even though I know it’s tough.. Hopefully they’ve given you some information about the different medications, I think the Ocrevus you have once every 6 months.. You’re still in a state of shock though evidently, and it’s a lot to process in your mind, so don’t rush into making a decision just yet, I didn’t rush, I had some time to adjust and time to do my research before I made a conscious decision..

I am in a state of shock. The number of vaccines bothers me quite a lot: • HIB + MEN C • PNEUMOCOCCAL • MEN ACWY • MEN B X 2 DOSES (I MONTH APART) • An up to date DTP booster within the last 10 years • Flu • Covid I can't make this decision in a hurry.
