Introduce Myself

Hi everyone I hope you all had an amazing new year. Ive just joined so thought I would say hi and introduce myself. My name is Gareth I am 31 years old from Glasgow, Scotland and diagnosed in march 2022. I done tests for MS back in 2019 MRI showed faint lessions on my brain and 1 on my spine and done a lumbar puncture which showed markers for ms. MRI a year later showed no change to the lessions and I had no more problems after optic neuritus so had no official diagnossis but my neurologist said i most likley do have MS but didnt want to diagnose me and give me treatment if its not active. Then i had a flare up which lasted Sep21-Jan22 and got diagnosed in march 22 after MRI also showed changes. Been having problems again and been off work since July 22 and dont feel like ill be getting better from this one. Strange thing is I had an MRI in October 22 (brain only for some reason) showed no signifficant change which I dont really underatand. My worst symptoms are pain in random places all over my body at random times and when not in pain im numb and tingley in random places at any time. I also get weakness in my legs arms and hands. Im very forgetfull most of the time I often forget why ive opened the fridge 🤦‍♂️😂 I get severe fattigue and have anxiety and depression. I recently ocasionaly feel like I dont lift my right foot enugh going up stairs and trip and my legs always shake going down stairs and it really annoys me 😂. Thank you for taking the time to read and I look forward to getting involved with the comunity

Hi Gar, I'm from Wishaw, North Lanarkshire. Foot drop (Not lifting legs enough) is probably major symptom. Had some bad falls when least expect it or not concentrating. Not yet officially diagnosed.

Hi @Gar91 I’m from North Ayrshire so not far from you either 👋. Although I’ve had MS for around 12 years I’ve been fortunate to have only mild symptoms until about a year ago. Mainly mobility (now new to using a wheelchair mostly when out of house) and fatigue (no real pattern except after stress or alcohol). I’m new to asking for help (totally doesn’t come naturally 🙄) but finding it really does help. The community here have been great for me. Like you not sure whether I’ll be able to return to work, but now have a great awareness of the Equality Act 2010 if I do. I’m also just starting to get help from the MS Revive Centre in Govan. If you haven’t tried it already I would recommend. Welcome 🤗
