Hey there everyone! Just a quick question.

New to the board but it's nice to find something where everyone is in similar boats and helps each other out. Ive been officially diagnosed since 6 months ago when I had my lumbar puncture but have had symptoms for years. I have quite a few symptoms but the one I'm struggling with most at the moment is RLS. I have had restless legs for a couple of months now and more often than not it keeps me awake until early hours of the morning. I've tried massaging and stretching, hot baths and drinking soda water. The doctors won't give me the quinine as it may worsen my optic neuritis symptoms. Anyone had this problem and found anything that helps? I've ran out of options at the moment. Thank you.

You might be past the stage where this is useful, but the biggest, heaviest weighted blanket you can afford might be a boon. I use a 'double' size one the wrong way round (so it covers me from shoulders to toes, not just across the legs) and wouldn't be without it now. Absolutely fantastic. But you might need a prescription (other than quinine - I'm hoping other people will help here, as I can't remember drug names unless I'm on them).

Weighted blanket has done me wonders for my restless legs, I can feel spasms coming on and put my weighted blanket on they stop. Magnesium supplements also help x
