ANTIBIOTICS/ ANTIVIRALS as a first like of defence.

There are many studies out there looking for the catalyst for MS and quite a few points the finger at a Viral or Bacterial source. The obvious Viral one being Epstein Barr. Epstein Barr can cross the blood brain barrier and trick the immune system into attacking healthy cells studies show. Also, other studies highlight the Bacteria PERFINGRENS as being at extremely high levels in Ms sufferers. Citing the growth stage and release of this bacterias toxins may coincide with relapses... Doxycycline and Minocycline have shown success against MS due to possible antiinflammatory and possible antibacterial and also possible antiviral mechanisms. Just a thought as it would make sense for the immune system to go on the attack in the presence of a toxic foreign body rather than for no reason. Anyone had any success with Antibiotics or Antivirals?

It is important not to confuse correlation with causation. I was at a neurology (Cony) conference very recently and saw a neurologist debating the EBV point with a virologist/ epidemiologist. It is so complex. It is involved but is it a type of 'hit-n-run' effect or does it play an ongoing role in the disease course? The most that sounds certain at this stage is to vaccinate against EBV in the way that we do for flu, Covid, HPV etc. Perfingrens is a strain of bacteria that causes food poisoning. There is no specific treatment or established cure for Clostridium perfringens toxins. Episodes of food poisoning are treated symptomatically. I wonder how many of us in total have detectable yet non-concerning amounts in our very complex gut flora?
