I was diagnosed with MS at Christmas. Med advise?

I was diagnosed with MS on December 19 and took a 5 day course of steroids in the hospital. I have an actual consult with a neuroimmunologist next week. Finding an available specialist proved to be difficult which has added to the stress and anxiety of the diagnosis! She intends to start DMTs for long term use because thus far I’ve only had two rounds of steroids which have not really worked. The idea was to shock my body out of flare, but the numbness only extends and is becoming unforgiving. My main concern is that I’m 50 and I’m having my first in life symptoms even though they found old spots on my brain that appear to be non active. The contrast was only found on my lower spine so that explains current symptoms. But I may be secondary progressive since it’s highly likely I’ve had MS for years without knowing? My symptoms are neuropathy of my feet (they are dead weights and stiff), lower legs, groin and lower back. Balance is an issue. Any suggestions on medications? I have only heard of Ocrevis and Kesimpta? Probably spelled both wrong? I’m unsure what to expect at the consult but was told that it’s purpose is to chose a drug for my particular symptoms. Any advise or direction would help?

@WPerrotto

In less than 10 years I flew from RRMS to SPMS, sailing through PPMS rather fast, and while I did do the steroid bit, which did help in the start but now it is like firing blanks, I am now on Mycophenolate but it has been rather hit & miss for a few years now. MS sucks, what can be said.
