So its Ocrevus or HSCT...

Hello all, In a nutshell my finacee was diagnosed with MS 5 years ago at 20, following his first and so far ONLY relapse - he was given tecfedera (this did not delay progression); he was then offered lemtrada which he did 2 rounds of but with a delay in between due to covid and finished in May 2021...Today we have been told he still has active disease and new lesions!! :/// Our next step is now either trying Ocrevus (the neuro seems very keen on this) or jumping straight for the big guns...HSCT. We are hoping to be married next year, and soon(ish) having children ect.... I think the ultimate frustrating (And arguably fortunate thing) is that he has had NO clinical symptoms or problems at all. I don't know...I am pretty sure we are going to go with Ocrevus but ultimately know that HSCT will have to be done eventually. Does it seem logical that we are choosing ocrevus > HSCT, despite it being less effective and lemtrada failing... I would say this is more to see if other people have been in a similar situation? I know ours is pretty unique. Thank you for your time and I shall await to hear some of your genuine responses :)

My understanding is ropey so don’t shoot me if I’m wrong but I think stem cells are a last resort so the neurologist will want to try everything else first. That said if he’s been offered stem cells I personally would go for them. They seem like the closest thing to a cure there is etc

Hi, I've had MS since I was 23. That was 17 years ago. I started with copaxone as had very severe symptoms. After a few years I started relapsing again, so my specialist suggested a couple of options. I picked the riskier 1, with the greater reward, Campath. I was single and had no dependants to think about (selfish of me not considering my parents). I then carried on with copaxone for years with great success. I got married and have 2 children. Just before covid I started reacting to the injections. Reading the options this time round I went for the safer 1, aubagio, that ultimately has less reward. I'm telling you this as you've talked about your plans. I think these factors need to be in them, I wouldn't pick campath now I have kids.
