Steroid crash?

Hi, I came off oral steroids about four days ago after a relapse and feel absolutely horrendous. I’m finding walking difficult my legs feel like ice blocks, I feel like someone has kicked me all over and the fatigue is worse than ever which nicely offsets waves of depression and anxiety. The dose was very high and not tapered down at all so I was curious if this is a normal reaction to coming off the steroids and will it ever end? Any advice at all would be great as I am rather scared right now.

@gilliland-hair , it is a huge dose of Steroids. After a couple of days, you can get a feeling of euphoria. But, this is followed a day or so later by the "Steroid crash". Steroids aren't an instant fix. Primarily, the Steroids will resolve the inflammation on your Central Nervous System (CNS) causing your present problems. Once this MS activity is resolved, your body can set about recovering. The Steroids will be assisting this recovery over the next 6-8 weeks. Although, you do need to rest up to allow this recovery to happen. Hope this helps.

@stumbler, thank you for your reply. I still don’t really understand if what I am feeling is normal after steroids. I was warned by the doctor I may feel depressed or down and not sleep but not about feeling so much worse physically than I was before I took them. I haven’t been able to work the last few days and I am so worried I need to get fit and back to it.
