Bowel problems?

Hi everyone. I was diagnosed 3 years ago with MS. I first went on Gilenya, which made me so foggy I couldn’t drive or work. Next I tried Copaxone. Got used to giving myself shots but after an MRI my neurologist said she thought it wasn’t helping. So now I’m in my 3rd month of Tecfidera and managing this med well. December I get another MRI. I have experienced lots of bladder problem and have learned to manage these well, although it’s annoying. I wanted to know if anyone has experienced problems with their bowels? Yuck. I know it’s not a pretty subject. Sometimes I feel like I don’t have the muscle power to empty my bowels all the way. It’s not constipation. Just a feeling of not enough strength to do what I need. Anyone else having these issues. Thank you so much.

I experience that too! That’s exactly how it feels… like I don’t have the strength to push it out lol. I thought I was the only one with that odd issue. Unfortunately I don’t know how to make it better. I hope things get better for the both of us!

Hi @shadow69 . it’s not uncommon. It’s a problem with our evolution. Sitting on a toilet is not the best position for any of us, as we’re “anatomically designed” to squat!

Try resting your feet on a block/box, to raise your knees. There are products available, Google “squatting toilet stool” to see what’s available.

Hi, I too experience Bowel strength issues along with some constipation problems.

I was advised to try taking some Senna tablets as and when needed, they have helped to a degree. But as with yourself, I don’t always feel “Empty”.
