Has anyone found out they had MS after normal brain mri?
Hi everyone. My family physician believes I have MS- i have issues swallowing and speaking, bowel bladder problems, numbness/tingling to the point that I couldnt feel my legs and went to emerg, cognitive issues severe fatigue- however when my neurologist sent me for an MRI he said it came back looking ok. He has now sent me for an mri of my spine. I've been waiting on results of that for a few weeks now.
I'm an epilepsy patient as well and when i had my first mri 10 years ago my previous neurologist warned me that "their were no lesions right now but that doesnt mean there wont be in the future".
I'm a little bit nervous but more than anything i'd just like some answers. So just wondering has anyone been diagnosed with MS after having a "normal" brain scan?
I had a MRI, some eye tests, ( had to wear a cap) so they could monitor response times, blood tests ,rule out anything else, even a HIV test but they don't tell you that Generally if they are unsure they will send you for a lumber puncture, but I have never had one of those. They could tell I had MS from tests and MRI. Good luck,
