Neurologist

Hello I've been having difficulties and pain with my lower back for years . Following an XRay they found arthritis in my lower spine and osteopenia in my spine and hips. In the last few months I've been having difficulty standing on my right leg after sleeping or sitting for a while. I told my Gp and MS nurse who wrote to my Neurologist to ask if I needed a MRI of my lower spine. I have several lesions on my brain and a spinal lesion at C2 and possibly C5 in my neck spinal column. Also evidence of physical problems C3 to C7 . I hoped to have a full spinal MRI however my Neurologist has decided before any scan this isn't MS related and isn't required. I'm not so sure is it worth a second opinion. ? I'm not diagnosed other than "probable ms with dissemination in space but not time' " In a way I'm looking for mot just help but being diagnosed one way or the other. Full disclosure I'm 59 and my Neurologist feels I've had MS for years and I've no active lesions or confirmation from Lumber puncture. I do have ongoing problems and was set up with an MS nurse after my first scan 2 years ago On Nurtriptlyne and Citalopram plus others. Just not sure what my next steps should be ? On.a positive note I was granted PIP on.my first application.

Well after my MRI scan on my lumber spine my GP phoned me to let me know I have moderate to severe spinal canal stenosis and 2 compression fractures in my spine and facet joint problems. Being urgently referred to Salford Spinal unit for review and possible surgery. Just to say not all symptoms are due to MS and it's worth seeing your GP if you are concerned about any symptoms .
