Watery Eye/Eyes?
Hey folks. Does anyone else seem to have a persistent watery eye or eyes? I seem to go through periods where my right eye just seems to water constantly, throughout the day and even while I'm asleep, leading to a crusty eye in the morning.
I've heard it could be a side effect of particular DMT drugs. I'm on the Kesimpta monthly injection.
I don't have it all the time, but when I do, it lasts for a couple of days and seems to be more frequent recently.
@markmalepour yes I do and it has only been recently (a few months ago) when I have noticed it getting worse. I thought that I had picked up an allergy to a plant in the house, or am starting to get allergic to the dog! I caught Covid (again) a couple of months ago and thought that I was experiencing "pink eye" as one of its symptoms, which a few people have reported with Covid. I too am taking Kesimpta and had been thinking that it must be to do with having a suppressed immune system. One thing I did read somewhere was that "yoghurt"/ some dairy products can cause itchy/ watery eyes. Something to do with the histamines which they release. I have cut down on diary (milk, yoghurt) and my watery eyes have calmed down a bit over the last few weeks. Maybe a coincidence, but with all this MS shenanigans going on, you never what to believe or expect! Be interesting to see if any others on Kesimpta are getting similar issues.
Worth popping to the optician and letting them know you think its a side effect of the drug. Most optometrists now are IP qualified so they should be able to advise and give you a remedy if required.
