Solifenacin. What time of day should I take it?

I've just been prescribed solifenacin to help with the overactive bladder symptoms caused by my MS. The bladder nurse emailed my GP and said the doctor will discuss medications with me but he has just sent out the prescription without discussing anything so I've just had a surprise delivery from the chemist. Before I start, I'd like to ask anyone else who had experience of the medication whether it is better to take in the morning or night? The urge to pee wakes me up every couple of hours during the night so I'm assuming it would be best for me to take it in the evening. Also, has anyone experienced any side effects and was the medication helpful?

For me, it worked very well - it started to work a bit within a few weeks and took a few months to reach full effect. I’ve stayed on the 5mg solifenacin and am basically normal now from frequency/urgency point of view. I don’t know if that’s usual or if I’ve just been lucky. Once, you’re established on it, it wouldn’t matter when you took it because will stay in your system so to speak. I take it at night because the main side effect for me was a bit of tiredness. My optician said my eyes were quite dry too at a recent check so that could be a side effect as well. Hope it works well for you.
