Optic neuritis eye check up

I had optic neuritis in the right eye Feb this year and in the end got diagnosed with rrms in Aug, my eye has not got much better since. Had an appointment out of the blue to go back to the eye clinic this week, and was a very annoying waste of time, went for a field test left eye fine but because I couldn't see the yellow dot in my right eye she cancelled it, even though my side vision I can see lights for some reason , so I was annoyed at that. Then came the appointment to see an eye doctor? Asked me and my mum to come in and take a seat then looked through my notes for a very long time! Then asked me what techfidera was he had not heard of it! By this point I just wanted to run as you can imagine 2016 has been a terrible year and this experience topped it off. compete waste of 3 hours. I've got a great neuro doctor and ms nurse thankfully, I don't know why the eye clinic want to see me, as there's no cure for it, sorry for the rant but I'm a newbi and an annoyed one ?
@Avengr13

I have had 2 cases of optic neuritis, one of which I went totally blind in one eye which as you can imagine, totally terrified me. The later one was over 10 years ago. To this day, ten years later, I can see just fine with glasses to correct my vision for nearsightedness and astigmatism. Even so, any opthamologist can still see damage to my optic nerve when looking through the vision screens. Hope this helps!?

@NicciS

Did you have steroids for the ON? I woke up blind in one eye on the 1st Nov 2015 which was the first step on the road to diagnosis in June 2016 after several years of other complaints to the GP which had fallen on deaf ears. The steroids definitely sped up my recovery and I would say it was about 8 weeks before vision returned to normal. I'm left with a scar on the optic nerve which is visible on the MRI and slightly reduced sight in that eye. I already wore glasses for short sightedness anyway and my prescription has been increased from -2.5 to -3 since the ON. It will get better- it just takes its time!
