RRMS diagnosis but slowly getting worse...

As the title suggests, I was officially diagnosed last year with RRMS after one big hit of vision, headaches and balance loss. i have suffered from these symptoms and others on and off pre-diagnosis which now make sense with the MS diagnosis. These things from diagnosis have stayed, but I have slowely been getting worse with my fatigue, especially the distance I can walk before drop foot (I had next to no walking issues around the time of my diagnosis) and my hands being able to grip or type / write (this has been on and off for 25 years, but never constant like it is now). I've also been developing intermittent cognitive issues with my memory and IQ failing me. And I am now on gabapentin due to getting progressively worse spasticity. I'm no doctor, but this doesn't sound like RRMS, but one of the progressive ones? please give me advice, reassurance, a hug, anything that will help me understand. good news or bad. Thomas

I felt exactly the same way and experienced very similar issues, typing, drop foot and spasms worsening, etc. I think a small part of it is after diagnosis we become a little more hyper vigilant of our bodies as we now know there is something with an official diagnosis. I guess to that other factors playing a part too like stress and lifestyle choices like smoking play huge aspects in how our symptoms progress and manifest. I have noticed certain symptoms come and go (like optic neuritis), and pain is more like the waves of the sea for me (it isn't constant but does fluctuate. I'm also RRMS but at times I've worried if its a progressive type but I don't think this worry serves anyone very well in causing more stress and anxiety. Easier said than done I know but this site and the people here, we all support one another and that's a real comfort and strength to me. :)
