Grateful

I just received my diagnosis last Friday and even though the news itself is unfortunate I feel so grateful for how the discussion was handled. I was called to the hospital’s immuno-neurology unit and two neurologists and the MS nurse gave me and my partner 1.5 hours — as much time as we needed to explain and answer all of our questions. I cried a little but we also laughed a bit as we were able to dispel some myths and fears I had. I felt so cared for by the medical team and am glad to have had my partner there. The way it was handled made a huge difference and I feel optimistic about starting high efficacy treatments (after going through the most horrible scenarios in my head over the last weeks pre diagnosis). I deeply wish and hope that everyone dealing with this disease can feel this level of support.
