Getting off prednisone after optic neuritis — medication side effects?

Hey, I was just diagnosed with optic neuritis and also seem to have signs of previous inflammation in my brain — I don’t have an official MS diagnosis at this point but they think it’s one of the autoimmune diseases or something in the “MS family” of diseases— not sure what that means. I received a high dose of IV methyl prednisone followed by two weeks oral prednisone. I feel like my head is foggy and I have quite a few mood swings, cannot focus and feel tied. Could this still be the side effects from the cortisone or is this my disease effing things up? Have you had a similar experiences?

Optic neuritis is one of the first significant symptoms of MS. Please don't let them fob you off. You know your own body. Brain fog is very typical of MS too. I hope you get to the bottom of it. Keep us update. Be well Loui 😀
