I was diagnosed with MS in 2010 ,following a Stroke and until late 2019, managed the condition without any drugs or therapy . Then I collapsed in the Shower, while on a business trip, couldn’t walk for three months. However over two years on can , though need sticks and my legs ache all the time. My Wife requires Care and Support due to her earlier Stroke and other medical issues. However I receive no support at all, no care or anything. They wanted to carry out a financial assessment first, to which I told them my taxes , NIC ,had paid for this through over 40 Yrs of paid work. Unfortunately the system said no questions, no support. To which I told them to clear off. So my Wife is almost 80 and needs a lot of support, so it’s obviously down to me. Can’t even get Carers Allowance because I receive a State Pension , which my NIC paid for, yet the system expects me to use that. Very Funny ,NOT ! The Government give money to everyone, except people like me, so we must be falling through the cracks. In my life I’ve cared for three Wives, while running Companies to keep us solvent. By the way ,one suffered acute Post Natal Depression and never really recovered while another was misdiagnosed during late pregnancy and left for dead, actually dying five years later and finally my current Wife ,which I’ve already explained. So I’ve done my bit of Caring, Yet Nobody Cares About Me ! What do you think and yet my MS issues will kill me in the end and so what of my lovely Wife ? Answers on a Post Card ?
