HSCT
I've recently started ocrelizumab, I had a MRI a couple of months after and I had two new lesions. When I received my letter about it they stated it was probably from before my treatment. I'm not convinced, I'm sure I had a relapse afterwards. I have an appointment with my nurse next month and I'm tempted to ask about HSCT if my next scan has any new lesions.
I'd just like to hear from those who have already had the treatment or know of those who have. I'm 50/50 on it due to the risks and longterm side effects.
I had hsct in may 2023. Nov 5 months post. Procedure no where near as bad as I expected. Chemo tough on your body but no nausea. The hospital stay for 4 weeks was ok. Staff were amazing. Slow recovery afterwards but seen improvements already and just returned to my crazy job as a midwife and felt really well. DMTs are the sticking plaster in ms treatment where as hsct is the stiches that half progression and see small improvements for the majority of patients. Difficult to get approval but without hesitation I would do it again in z as heart beat
@Sarahnoble78 Thank you so much for your comment, I'm considering HSCT for myself and I'm going to enquire further with my nurse about it. I'm glad to hear its gone well for you
