Am I having symptoms?

Hi everyone. I have a history of MS in my family but the doctors aren't taking it seriously to run the proper tests since it's my cousin's not mother, grandmother, etc. But I think the fact that all three of my cousin's born same generation as me all have MS and this is considered anything relevant. I'm struggling to get proper care and I keep getting different diagnosis such as ADHD ( for my constant brain fog and memory loss) and fibromyalgia for my chronic pain and fatigue. But latley things have been getting weird. I'm walking and my foot gives out and causes me to fall or trip. When I go from sitting to standing my right foot goes red and completely numb. I have pins and needles in all my fingers and occasionally drop things. I have a doctor's appointment coming up next week and do any of you have any advice on how to explain to him my symptoms don't seem related to fibro so I can get the necessary tests and treatment if this MS. My symptoms are the same as my family members...but again this keeps getting dismissed. Feeling really defeated here.

That sounds super frustrating. I guess a Dr should take note that there is a family connection to MS. I have read that a family member having MS increases the risk. I would definitely recommend keeping a clear and concise history of symptoms/diary. Especially symptoms that don’t cross over with fibromyalgia. I hope you can get some tests to help. Probably an MRI is needed if MS is suspected. If all else fails make a complaint or change Doctor 🤷‍♀️. Not sure how you can do that 🤷‍♀️. Good luck 🤞.

If this doc won't get an MRI, I would definitely get a second opinion. I went through 3 before finally just going to an urgent care, and thats where they finally decided to take me seriously and schedule an MRI. I know it's so frustrating, but you have to keep advocating for yourself, no one else will.
