Back pain

Each time I speak to a neurologist they tell me that the pain I have in my upper back is not linked to my MS. Yet as soon as I do any light gardening, or go for a walk I am OK when I am am but on the evening I can barely move, I get spasms in my rib cage that take my breath away and I find it very difficult (every day) to twist or bend. This only started after my MS diagnosis. The MRI showed general wear and rear in my lower back (I am 49) but my lower back doesn't give me any pain. Does anyone else get these cramps in their intercostal muscles resulting in lack of mobility in the upper back and sides, down to the waist?
@SusieC

It has taken me nine months so far to get painkillers for my back.... I'm nearly there. Same issue as you. It's quite frustrating tbh. I don't know if it's just me but I feel like the NHS is in melt down at the moment.....

Hiya. I am newly diagnosed and wondering if my back pain is caused by MS. Haven’t seen the neurologist yet to discuss but I do wonder. Mine has been about 5 years now, and get same upper back and intercostal muscles pain. How is your back now?
