Avonex
Been on avonex since jan this year was on needle and syringe and was struggling with it so was given the avonex pen and ive been having reactions every week i use it end up with a big red mark that doesnt seem to fade has anyone else experienced this? Ive seen MS nurse and she pulling me in in may to see my sites and if hasnt died down i may have to change treatment ☹️ . And to add to my marks i hit a vein yday and now have a big black sore bruise ☹️ X
Hi, I have just started Avonex and only had one jab with the help of my nurse. The advice I was given to reduce any side effects at the injection site were to go in and out at 90 degrees. Apply pressure with to the site after and if red apply a cold compress. If this doesn’t work and there is still redness, swelling, soreness I would recommend to see a nurse. Perhaps just seeing a general GP. If you can’t see your neurology team until May. Or maybe a phone call to them, to see what they recommend 🤔. I hope it gets better for you soon. 🤞
Hi @clary, Thanks for reply ms nurse has seen them and not too worried about them showed her how i inject and she said i was doing everything right, but pulled my appointment from september to may to see them again and if still red then i may have to change ive still got red mark off each injection over last 6 weeks some are starting to fade but still there x
