Work post diagnosis

Hey my name's Jess, I'm 24 and was diagnosed with Relapsing remitting MS in June this year. At the time I was working as a Registered nurse in ED...I was really struggling to make it to work leading up to my diagnoses, and dropped down to 2 days a week but since my diagnosis I have had to resign. I was just wondering if anyone else has had to quit their job and what you did instead? Whether it be no work at all, or a different kind of work? I'm pretty bummed out about quitting cause I work so hard to get there...and now I've gotta let it go, for the sake of my health. Thankyou!

I’m currently training to become a nurse and was diagnosed earlier this year! It’s so difficult as we are all effected so differently! I still manage to work on the ward successfully but it’s definitely a up hill struggle!! But the beauty of nursing is there’s soo many different fields to explore some of which may not be so physically demanding! But remember June isn’t even 6 months ago, you’ve been through a lot, time reflect and reasses is a god send 😊

Hi 👋. I have given up work. Finances can become tight. I think giving up has been positive, but definitely not easy. I wish I had changed to a job that was easier for me. I would recommend looking at ways to stay in work with aid. Or a change 🤷‍♀️. Good luck 🤞
