Update on ADP, PIP and MRI.

Hey everyone..... I just wanted to update you on this ever evolving story. (To save me typing it all out again have a wee read of my 14th December post). Adult Disability Payment have now awarded me enhanced care on both daily living and mobility. It has been a 6 month process but it was so worth the wait!! PIP cancelled all of my enhanced mobility payment award and took my car off me. I applied to the new Scottish (ADP) on the 5th September 2022 - a few weeks after I received my letter from PIP. I gave ADP copies of all of my consultant, urologist, psychologist and physiotherapists letters. Along with a full list of all of my medication. Because I had collated and sent so much information they did not have to contact anyone for confirmation. I had a 90 minute mri of my brain and spine on Wednesday of this week. Results of that will determine if I am starting treatment. I have Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis so there is only one drug available to me - and the criteria for starting on it is tight. My next scheduled appointment with my consultant is in April but I am really hoping to hear something before then..... It's been a nightmare having to go through what I have went through regarding PIP and its been a long road to get to where I am now. Thankfully I am stubborn but it angers me that I had to go through losing my car (I cried when it was picked up from my house - she was my independence and freedom). I just wonder how many folk just don't feel they can fight these ridiculous decisions. My award on Adult Disability Payment is for 7 years so I can now concentrate on my health, my family, my wee dog...without having to fight anymore!! X

@Ireneb74 what a shame you had to go through such an awful time for a benefit you are fully entitled too . I'm so pleased that your fight and determination has resulted in a positive outcome for you in the end . Even better that you now have an award for the next 7 years.
